Description
Indian Summer, filmed and set on-location at Camp Tamakwa, a summer camp located in Ontario, Canada, is a heartwarming comedy about eight friends who reunite at their summer camp after 20 years! Starring an impressive ensemble cast including Diane Lane, Vincent Spano, Elizabeth Perkins, Bill Paxton and Alan Arkin, no sooner do the visitors arrive than they return to the best summer of their lives -- practical jokes, midnight kitchen raids, boat races, campfire stories, and secret romances pick up right where they left off. "Unca" Lou Handler (Arkin), the beloved camp director and owner of Camp Tamakwa, invites the former campers, all now adults, back to the camp to announce his retirement. Lou claims to have chosen these friends as they were the group from the camp's "golden years". Once there, the group comes to feel the nostalgic memories of their youth and the unresolved feelings for each other begin to surface.
EDITORIAL REVIEWS"Mike Binder places his well-acted comedy in the familiar turf of other "reunion" films (Return of Secaucus Seven, Big Chill), adding one element to the genre: Instead of indoor weekend, the regrouping is set in a beloved camp of the 1972 summer..." - Emanuel Levy, Variety
"This is a story more interested in tone and mood than in big plot points." - Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times
"Indian Summer is a feel-good comedy about eight friends who are reunited with each other at a camp." - Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, Spirituality and Practice
