(The Wednesday, July 8th Seminar is now cancelled due to a work conflict for Vincent.
It will be rescheduled for a later date in 2015)
This seminar has been qualified by the State Bar of California for 6 hours of MCLE credit!
The Trial's Edge Seminar strives to assist Attorneys in writing and presenting more powerful, effective and persuasive Briefs, Opening Statements and Closing Arguments, through the important skills and techniques of the Screenwriter and Actor. This seminar is not just limited to Trial Attorneys, as all Attorneys can benefit from these skills.
This seminar is different and unique because it takes place in a theater and not a classroom and there will certainly be an element of fun ... a retreat from a day at court or in the office.
In every case, there must be a story for the Jurors in the courtroom to follow, with a strong point of view, along with consistent and compelling elements. This story is first created in the all-important Opening Statement, maintained during Questioning and concluded in the Closing Argument. The creation of this live event through powerfully presented storytelling is the key to an Attorney’s success, and can be the difference between victory and failure.
The actor has vocal, physical, and Storytelling skills to bring a story to life on the stage and screen. The Attorney needs these same powerful persuasion skills to bring the story of their case to life in the courtroom. Their Clients and Witnesses are characters in their story … and Jurors are not just their audience, but also the Attorney's fellow actors on their stage - Jurors must be engaged by the impact the events of the story are having on the Storyteller themselves.
Vincent has always been taken with courtroom drama. As a boy, before he pursued acting, directing and writing, he was strongly considering a career as an Attorney. He will personally lead this workshop, along with a fellow writer/actor colleague who has a broad knowledge of legal procedure, and an accomplished Entertainment Attorney. The three of them will each present specific segments of a diverse program.
Specific information about the Workshop's location will be submitted to participants after they sign up. The venue is a plush, private screening room in the heart of the Beverly Hills shopping and dining district, with complimentary, validated parking underneath the building.
